    • Reconnects to an overseas ISP
      • Thought to be Moldova, later found to be Canada
      • Very high connect fees, charged to their modem telephone line
  • Some customers preferred to pay very high phone bills than to explain them... (social engineering)

• Ex: Two hackers stole communication company’s 5-year plan for cellular systems

  • Demanded $2M to destroy the system
  • Made their demands through an ISP owned by the same company...
